Create an invoice by describing the work

Type who you're billing, what you did, what it cost and when it's due — in your own words. InvoiceCraftly prepares the details for you to review before creating a real, editable invoice.

Prepare invoice details with AI

InvoiceCraftly uses AI to turn your description into invoice details for you to review. By continuing, the description is sent for processing. See Privacy

How this works

What this tool does

Create Invoice From Text uses the same description-to-draft engine as InvoiceCraftly's other invoice-capture surfaces. Describe the customer, the work or items, the price, and any tax or payment terms you already know. InvoiceCraftly reads what you wrote and prepares a structured summary — it does not invent details you did not provide.

What you can describe
You can includeWhat happens if you don't
Customer nameYou'll be asked to add it during review.
Work, items, hours or quantitiesRequired — this becomes your line items.
Price or rateRequired for each line item.
Tax or VAT rateLeft as unknown for you to confirm — InvoiceCraftly does not guess a tax rate or legal treatment from a country name or currency alone.
Payment terms or due dateLeft blank for you to set in review or in the editor.
Currency, PO referenceDetected when stated; otherwise left for you to add.

Review before you create

The result is always an editable draft, not a finished invoice. Before anything is saved, you see exactly what InvoiceCraftly understood — customer, line items, prices, tax and terms — grouped as found, needs review, or missing. Nothing is added to your documents until you choose "Create editable draft." From there, the draft opens in InvoiceCraftly's regular editor, where you can correct, extend or export it as a PDF, PNG, SVG, or CSV invoice.

If your description mentions a tax rate explicitly, that value is carried through for you to confirm. If it only mentions a country or says "plus VAT" without a rate, the tax field is left for review rather than filled in automatically — see what should an invoice include for what tax/VAT fields commonly mean, and the relevant VAT and reverse charge reference pages for further reading.

Before you send

What this tool does and doesn't decide for you

This tool prepares a draft from what you describe; it does not determine legal or tax compliance, and it will not silently apply a tax rate, jurisdiction, or legal treatment you didn't state. Confirm tax, legal and country-specific requirements — see What should an invoice include? and the relevant country requirements guide — before sending the invoice.
