Invoice Capture · Microsoft Edge privacy

Your captured work stays in the browser session until you choose to create the document.

This policy covers InvoiceCraftly — Invoice Capture for Microsoft Edge. V1.0.1 turns text you explicitly select into reviewed line items and opens those lines in InvoiceCraftly. Invoice is the default; Quote and Estimate are secondary variants of the same workflow.

What the extension handles

Only information you deliberately provide to Invoice Capture

  • Website content: only the text you explicitly select and send by choosing Add to InvoiceCraftly from Microsoft Edge's selection context menu.
  • Line-item fields: description, quantity, unit, and rate values you review or edit in the side panel.
  • Document choice: Invoice, Quote, or Estimate. Invoice is selected by default.
  • Invoice Capture does not scrape, scan, or automatically extract surrounding page content and does not collect the source page URL, page title, or visit history.

Permissions V1.0.1 uses

  • contextMenus — provides the explicit Add to InvoiceCraftly action.
  • storage — keeps the temporary queue in browser-session memory while Edge remains open.
  • sidePanel — displays the review interface without injecting into the page.

Permissions V1.0.1 does not request

  • No host permissions.
  • No tabs, activeTab, scripting, or browsing-history permission.
  • No content scripts or page injection.
  • No web-accessible resources or remote-code path.

Browser-session storage

Invoice Capture stores the current queue in chrome.storage.session, the Chromium extension API used by Microsoft Edge for browser-session memory. The capture queue is not persisted to chrome.storage.local or synchronized through chrome.storage.sync.

The queue is cleared when you remove items, choose Clear all, after a successful document handoff, or when the browser session ends. V1.0.1 does not intentionally retain a server-side copy of the capture queue.

What happens when you create an Invoice, Quote, or Estimate

The extension validates the reviewed line items, encodes only description, quantity, unit, and rate, and opens the HTTPS InvoiceCraftly editor with those fields in the URL fragment after #icx=. The selected document type is carried by InvoiceCraftly's ordinary editor type query parameter.

A URL fragment is not included in the HTTP request sent to the website. InvoiceCraftly validates the fragment and removes it from the address bar before optional analytics code initializes. The reviewed values are then applied to the editor in the browser.

The handoff does not include the source page URL, page title, browsing history, seller details, client details, tax IDs, bank details, payment credentials, QR payloads, document numbers, or arbitrary page content outside the text you selected.

No extension analytics or remote processing of captured lines

The extension does not send captured text or reviewed line-item fields to an InvoiceCraftly API, advertising network, analytics service, or other third party. It does not download or execute remotely hosted extension code.

Opening invoicecraftly.com causes ordinary website hosting/resource requests described in the main InvoiceCraftly privacy policy. Those requests do not intentionally contain the #icx= line-item payload.

If you separately consent to optional analytics on invoicecraftly.com, the website may record only a generic Microsoft Edge extension handoff outcome (success or failure). That event contains no selected text, line count, quantity, unit, rate, source URL/title, selected document type, or document content.

Microsoft Edge Add-ons data use

How Invoice Capture limits use of handled data

  • Purpose-limited: handled data is used only to provide the disclosed capture/review/document-creation workflow.
  • No sale or advertising: captured information is not sold and is not used or transferred for personalized advertising, profiling, market research, or credit decisions.
  • No unrelated transfer: V1.0.1 does not transfer the capture queue to third parties or an InvoiceCraftly API.
  • No human reading: InvoiceCraftly personnel cannot read the extension capture queue because V1.0.1 does not transmit it to InvoiceCraftly servers.

Your control

You can edit or remove individual captured lines, choose Clear all, choose whether to create an Invoice, Quote, or Estimate, or close Microsoft Edge to end the browser session. The extension does not require an account.

Selected text can itself contain client, financial, confidential, personal, or otherwise sensitive information. Choose only the content you intend to turn into a line item.

Changes and contact

If a future version adds site integrations, cloud sync, accounts, remote parsing, extension analytics, or broader browser permissions, this policy and the Microsoft Edge Add-ons disclosures will be updated before that version is released.

Questions can be sent through the InvoiceCraftly contact page.
