Design a readable numbering pattern and preview its first three examples. This tool does not reserve a number, advance an InvoiceCraftly counter, inspect your records, or place the pattern in a new draft.
Preview-only pattern
Build an invoice number format
Readable structure
What each pattern part means
A prefix can identify the document series, an optional year can make periods easier to recognize, and padding gives sequence values a consistent width. For example, prefix INV, year 2026, hyphens, and four-digit padding produces INV-2026-0001.
The year field is literal: this page does not change it automatically when a calendar year changes.
Keep your own record
Continuity happens outside this preview
The generator does not know which invoice numbers you have already used, cancelled, corrected, imported, or created on another device. Compare the pattern with your existing records and maintain the sequence in the system you actually use.
Changing a format mid-series can create ambiguity. Record when and why you adopt a new pattern.
Important limits
Not a unique or compliant number service
The examples are formatting suggestions, not registered, reserved, synchronized, government-issued, globally unique, or proof of legal or tax compliance. Numbering requirements vary by jurisdiction, document type, business, and record-keeping system.
Invoice and Proforma sequences may need different treatment. Verify the rules and policies that apply before issuing a document.
